Maureen Nolan, sister of the late Linda Nolan, has broken her silence following the singer’s death on January 15.

and paid tribute to her sister, revealing that cancer was not the direct cause of Linda’s passing.
Instead, it was complications from a battle with pneumonia that led to her death.
Linda, who had been battling secondary breast cancer for several years, tragically passed away after a lengthy and courageous fight.
According to reports, she was surrounded by her loving siblings in her final hours, receiving comfort and warmth from her family.
Maureen’s heartfelt post on Instagram expressed the deep sorrow the Nolan family is feeling. She shared several nostalgic photos of herself with Linda and began her message by writing, “Our beautiful @thelindanolan left us yesterday, so much to say not sure where or if I can start, countless memories, countless laughs, and constant support when you really needed it, I am heartbroken as we all are, just so sad [heartbroken emojis].”
In her emotional tribute, Maureen clarified that Linda’s death was not caused by cancer. “The big C didn’t actually get her,” Maureen stated. “She contracted double pneumonia over Christmas and New Year, and because of her immune system, it was one battle too much.” She went on to express her admiration for Linda’s incredible strength, saying, “Please keep hopeful and strong if you are suffering. She lasted nearly 20 years with one cancer or another, and so can you.”

The one that let you stay up late, would occasionally let you swear, and would sit and go through the whole Mickey monologue from *Blood Brothers* with me until I had it down,” Jake reminisced. “She had a remarkable life, and I take comfort in the fact she lived it authentically. Thank you for all your kind words.”
