After leaving I’m A Celeb, Jane Moore opened up about a mental health crisis triggered by a traumatic experience on the show involving Coleen Rooney.

In a recent interview, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Jane Moore opened up about her time in the jungle and revealed a surprising reason why she intentionally kept her distance

from fellow campmate Coleen Rooney. Moore admitted that, while the two had no personal issues, the intense atmosphere of the camp and the mental strain of the experience led her to be more reserved than usual.

“It wasn’t that I didn’t want to be friendly or engage with her,” Moore explained, “but the dynamics of the camp were challenging, and I was trying to stay focused on getting through each day.”

Moore’s candidness about her experience in the I’m A Celeb camp comes after her emotional exit from the show, where she cited feeling both physically and mentally drained after only a week.

The intense challenges, the lack of privacy, and the constant pressure of being on camera seemed to take a significant toll on her. “It’s not like anything I’ve ever done before,” Moore confessed.

“You go in thinking you’re prepared, but nothing can quite prepare you for the physical and mental exhaustion that comes with the experience.”

The jungle, with its demanding tasks and constant scrutiny, left Moore struggling to keep up, and by the end of her first week, she knew it was time to leave.

While the challenges were undeniably tough, Moore revealed that her time in the jungle also made her appreciate the importance of mental health and self-care. “There are so many elements to it that you don’t see on TV,” she said. “The feeling of isolation, the lack of sleep, the uncertainty. It’s a lot to deal with, and it wears you down. After a while, I had to take a step back and think about what was best for me.” Despite her tough decision to leave early, Moore emphasized that her time on the show was a unique experience that taught her a lot about herself and her limits.

The mention of Coleen Rooney’s name sparked interest, as it was revealed that Moore had avoided any deep conversations or close interactions with her fellow campmate. Moore explained that it wasn’t because of any personal tension or disagreements, but rather due to the fact that the camp environment forced everyone into such intense situations that it was difficult to form solid relationships in a short period of time. “Everyone’s emotions are heightened,” Moore noted. “You’re not getting a proper night’s sleep, you’re constantly hungry, and you don’t have the usual outlets you’d have at home to relieve stress. It was hard to focus on personal connections when you’re just trying to get through each day.”

In hindsight, Moore admits that the experience has changed her perspective on how she handles stress and the way she interacts with others. The jungle, with its lack of creature comforts, put her in a position where she had to make some hard choices, including avoiding certain campmates like Coleen for the sake of her own mental well-being. “It sounds strange, but avoiding people wasn’t about not liking them,” Moore explained. “It was just a way of conserving my energy. I had to focus on getting through the day and didn’t have the emotional space to build new friendships.”

Although Moore left the jungle sooner than expected, her decision has sparked a broader conversation about the mental health challenges that celebrities face while participating in reality shows like I’m A Celebrity. The pressure to perform, combined with the physical strain of the trials, can have a significant impact on a person’s well-being. Moore’s decision to step back shows the importance of listening to one’s own needs and knowing when it’s time to take a break. It also highlights the complex nature of reality TV, where viewers often see only a fraction of what’s happening behind the scenes.

While her time on I’m A Celebrity may have been brief, Moore’s honesty about the difficulties she faced offers valuable insight into the reality of life in the jungle. She has since expressed gratitude for the opportunity and praised her fellow campmates for their resilience, but also emphasized the importance of self-care, both physically and mentally. “It was an eye-opening experience,” Moore concluded, “and although I didn’t finish my time there, I’m proud of what I accomplished and how I took care of myself in a very challenging environment.”
